Description.

The H&K MP5 RIS Full Metal AEG Rifle with Eshooter ETU GEN-2 in Black, model CM041L, takes the unmistakable MP5 platform and chops it down into a compact Kurz/PDW-style package built with close-quarters airsoft in mind. Manufactured by Cyma under official Umarex and Heckler & Koch licensing, this Rifle combines authentic H&K trademarks and a metal receiver with modern electronics and far more accessory space than you'd find on a traditional MP5. Small gun. Quite a lot going on inside it.

The CM041L is particularly interesting if you like an electric rifle that stays out of the way when you're working through doorways and tight indoor structures. Its shortened front end and retractable PDW stock give the airsoft gun the compact proportions you'd expect from an MP5-based submachine gun, while the updated furniture means you aren't stuck trying to attach modern accessories to a decades-old handguard design.

Starting at the front, Cyma has fitted an ultra-compact aluminium M-LOK handguard. It's a sensible choice on something this short because you get useful mounting points without surrounding the front end with the bulk of a traditional quad-rail system. Lights, lasers and compatible angled grips can be fitted where required, allowing you to set the CM041L up for indoor games without turning it into a Christmas tree.

Above the handguard sits an extended Picatinny top rail running back across the receiver. This is one of the more useful changes compared with a classic MP5 layout, particularly if you run a micro red dot. There's considerably more freedom when choosing optic position, and you don't need to start hunting around for separate MP5 claw mounts before you can fit a sight. For a modern CQB Airsoft AEG, that makes a lot of sense.

The main upper receiver is metal, while the lower grip frame is made from impact-resistant polymer. That combination gives the CM041L the solid feel associated with a metal MP5 without making every external component unnecessarily heavy. At the back you'll find a multi-position retractable PDW-style stock. Collapse it when you're moving through tight spaces, then extend it when you want a more stable shoulder position. The stock also incorporates battery storage, an important detail on such a short platform where internal space is naturally limited.

Where the CM041L really moves away from an old-school MP5 AEG is inside the gearbox. Cyma has installed the Eshooter ETU Gen-2 electronic trigger unit, replacing the traditional mechanical trigger trolley arrangement. The electronic system provides much sharper trigger operation along with complete gearbox cycle detection. For CQB sites where you're spending most of the day on semi-auto, that quicker response is far more useful than simply having a high full-auto rate of fire.

The Eshooter ETU Gen-2 also brings programmable firing options into the mix, including 3-round burst configurations. Electronic pre-cocking can leave the gearbox ready for the next shot, reducing the delay between pulling the trigger and firing. Active braking helps control motor over-spin at the end of a cycle, while low-voltage cutoff protection helps protect your LiPo battery from being run down too far. Taken together, these features make the CM041L feel like a much newer generation of airsoft gun than its classic MP5 roots suggest.

The electronic trigger is backed up by a reinforced Version 2 gearbox shell containing high-speed CNC steel gears, steel bushings and a high-torque neodymium motor. It's a combination focused on responsive cycling and dependable skirmish use. The familiar V2 architecture also means you're dealing with a gearbox format widely known throughout the airsoft world rather than some obscure proprietary system.

Magazine compatibility is equally straightforward. The CM041L accepts standard Tokyo Marui-spec MP5 AEG magazines, including mid-cap, high-cap and straight-stick types. That's useful for existing MP5 owners and makes putting together a practical CQB loadout easy, whether you prefer several quiet mid-caps or a higher-capacity setup.

At the muzzle, removing the front cap reveals standard 14mm CCW threading. That opens the door to compatible tracer units, mock suppressors and barrel extensions without needing an unusual adaptor. A tracer is particularly at home on this compact MP5; pair one with the short front end and responsive ETU and you've got a setup that makes plenty of sense for dark indoor arenas.

The CM041L is ultimately an MP5 for someone who likes the original platform but doesn't necessarily want the original configuration. It keeps the recognisable H&K shape, metal construction and familiar magazine system, then adds a short M-LOK front end, extended optic rail, PDW stock and programmable electronic trigger. For CQB, that's a pretty convincing mixture of old and new.
