Description.

This 416-style airsoft assault rifle is an electric 1:1 scale platform aimed at regular players who want familiar AR handling with the chunkier front end associated with the 416 family. At around 2.9kg, it has enough weight to feel substantial without turning a full skirmish day into an arm workout. The rifle measures approximately 75cm with the stock collapsed and 84cm extended, so it remains fairly manageable when moving through buildings, woodland cover or tighter firing positions.

Starting at the muzzle, you get a steel flash hider fitted to a 14mm CCW male threaded outer barrel. That common thread makes the airsoft gun compatible with a huge range of suitable airsoft suppressors and tracer units once the flash hider is removed. The 11-inch alloy outer barrel sits inside an aluminium M-LOK handguard. M-LOK gives you plenty of scope for adding grips and other accessories without covering every surface in bulky rail. Where conventional mounting is useful, the rifle also provides 20mm RIS/RAS rail space and a 20mm railed receiver.

The main receiver is alloy, as are the buffer tube and outer barrel, while steel is used for smaller hard-wearing components including the flash hider, QD sling points, castle nut, dust cover, iron sights, screws and bolts. The pistol grip and six-position sliding stock are polymer. It is a sensible mix. You get metal where it adds strength and feel, while polymer furniture keeps the back end from becoming needlessly heavy. The stock finishes with a rubber butt plate, which gives a more planted feel against clothing and tactical kit.

Controls are particularly well suited to players who appreciate an AR layout but want fewer awkward hand changes. The magazine release and fire selector are ambidextrous, and there is an ambidextrous sling plate at the rear. The extended charging handle gives access to the HOP-up chamber. Pull it back, lock the mock bolt open and the rotary HOP adjuster is sitting inside the mock ejection port. Rotary units are straightforward to fine-tune and tend to be less fiddly than older lever arrangements. The suggested ammunition weight is 0.25g BBs.

Internally, this Airsoft AEG uses a V2 gearbox with an electronic trigger and quick-change spring system. The gearbox is rear wired and uses a Deans battery connector, with an 11.1V battery voltage specified for the platform. The electronic trigger gives the trigger system a more modern setup than a basic mechanical-contact AEG, while the quick-change spring arrangement makes gearbox servicing and spring changes more convenient. Fire selection covers Safe, Semi Automatic and Full Automatic, giving you the usual flexibility expected from an electric rifle.

Down the barrel is a 280mm inner barrel with a 6.03mm internal diameter. Combined with the adjustable rotary

HOP-up, this gives you a useful setup for tuning the flight of your chosen BB weight. Testing with 0.20g BBs gives approximately 335fps, with a stated tolerance of ±10%. As ever, chrono the rifle using the ammunition required by your site before playing rather than assuming every site uses exactly the same limits.

The included AEG magazine holds approximately 120 rounds. That medium-capacity format is a nice match for this type of Rifle: no constant winding wheel and considerably less BB rattle than a traditional high-cap. Sling mounting is equally flexible, with QD, loop, stock and handguard mounting options at the front and rear. Add the rotary drum iron sights and you have an airsoft rifle that can be run perfectly well in a simple configuration before adding optics or other accessories.
