Description.

The G&G TR16 GMS Mk II GT Advanced 13.5" is a full-size electric rifle aimed at airsofters who want more reach and a substantial, field-ready platform rather than a tiny CQB blaster. At 2910g, it has enough weight to feel convincing in the hands, while its full metal receiver gives the airsoft gun the solid character you'd expect from G&G's GT Advanced range. This is very much an outdoor-focused Airsoft AEG, although the familiar AR layout keeps handling straightforward.

The front end is dominated by a 13.5-inch CNC M-LOK handguard. It's a useful length if you run more than a bare-bones setup, with room for a foregrip, light, bipod or other compatible accessories without everything fighting for the same few inches of rail. Across the top sits a continuous 20mm rail, providing plenty of space for an optic and other sighting equipment. The slim M-LOK format also avoids turning the front of the Rifle into a cheese grater covered in unused rail sections.

Inside that long front end is a 380mm inner barrel. Combined with the rifle's approximately 330-350 FPS output on 0.20g BBs, the setup is clearly geared towards woodland games and larger outdoor sites. Barrel length alone doesn't magically produce range, of course; hop setup, BB weight and consistency all play their part. What the 380mm barrel does provide is a sensible foundation for a full-length airsoft assault rifle where stable, repeatable shots matter more than squeezing the shortest possible package through a doorway.

The gearbox is where the GT Advanced specification starts earning its keep. G&G pairs its next-generation reinforced gearbox with an Electronic Trigger Unit and inline MOSFET. The ETU electronically manages trigger input, giving the TR16 a more responsive firing cycle than a basic mechanical trigger arrangement, while the MOSFET handles the electrical side and incorporates battery protection. There's programmable 3-round burst functionality too, adding another useful firing option alongside conventional operation.

G&G has also included a quick-change spring system. For an experienced airsofter, that's a welcome feature because it makes spring changes far less involved than stripping down a traditional gearbox simply to alter the main spring. Any resulting power level still needs to comply with your site's limits, naturally, but from a maintenance and tuning perspective it's a much friendlier arrangement.

Another interesting internal detail is G&G's double-feed channel design, intended to improve BB feeding consistency and reliability. Feeding problems can turn an otherwise lovely AEG into an expensive maraca, so this is one of those less glamorous features that matters once you're actually on the field. It's not something that shouts for attention on a spec sheet, but dependable feeding is exactly the sort of detail experienced players tend to appreciate.

The controls are properly ambidextrous, with the fire selector, magazine release and bolt release accessible from either side. That's useful for left-handed players, but it also helps right-handed players when switching shoulders around barricades and woodland cover. You don't need to relearn the rifle every time it moves to the other side of your body. Small detail. Big difference during a long game.

Overall, the TR16 GMS Mk II sits at the more serious end of G&G's AEG line-up. It combines a full metal exterior, long CNC handguard and 380mm inner barrel with the electronic trigger technology and reinforced internals expected from the GT Advanced Series. It isn't trying to be the lightest BB Gun or the shortest rifle in the safe zone. Instead, it's set up as a dependable full-length platform for players who spend plenty of time outdoors and want something with a strong specification straight from the box.

There's also plenty of scope to make it your own. The M-LOK handguard, uninterrupted top rail and familiar AR-style layout give you a strong base for building anything from a clean woodland rifle with a simple red dot to a more involved setup with magnified optics, foregrip and bipod. Sensible foundations first, accessories afterwards. That's usually the better way around.
