Description.

The G&G ARP 9 2.0 Combat Machine is a compact electric rifle built for the sort of airsoft where doorways, tight corners and quick snapshots matter more than having a long front end. At just 597.8mm long and weighing 1964g, this Airsoft AEG stays nimble without feeling flimsy. It's essentially a PDW-style Rifle with AR controls and a short, modern front end – a combination that makes plenty of sense for CQB and indoor games.

Up front, G&G fits a 7-inch aluminium M-LOK handguard. It keeps unnecessary bulk down while giving you mounting positions for the accessories you actually use, whether that's a light, grip or other M-LOK-compatible kit. Running along the top is a 20mm Picatinny flat-top rail, so adding a red-dot sight or another compatible optic is straightforward. The short handguard also helps keep the weight close to your hands rather than hanging it out at the muzzle. You'll notice that difference when you're pieing corners all day.

Behind the handguard sits a reinforced polymer receiver supported by metal components. Some players still hear “polymer” and immediately think cheap plastic, but that's not really the story here. A programmable 3-round burst mode is available, letting you set the ARP up for short controlled bursts when appropriate. You get extra flexibility without bolting another aftermarket electronic unit into the gearbox before you've even played your first game.

That's still short enough to retain the ARP's compact proportions, while giving this 2.0 model a little more barrel length than you might expect from such a stubby platform. An adjustable hop-up lets you tune the amount of backspin applied to the BB, helping you match the setup to your ammunition and get a stable flight path. Don't be fooled by the dimensions – a short BB Gun doesn't automatically mean it has to behave like it's throwing BBs out of a drainpipe.

Feeding comes from the familiar ARP9-style magazine format. G&G supplies the rifle with a 170-round magazine which supports the electronic magazine cutoff system. That gives the ARP 9 2.0 a sensible ammunition capacity without sticking a huge magazine underneath a deliberately compact platform.

At the rear you'll find G&G's GOS-V9 PDW adjustable stock. It keeps the collapsed footprint short for close work but still gives you a proper shoulder contact point when extended. The battery compartment is integrated into the stock assembly, keeping the electrical setup contained within the streamlined PDW layout.

The result is an airsoft assault rifle with more personality than another standard-length AR clone. The ARP 9 2.0 is aimed squarely at airsofters who value low weight, short overall length and electronic trigger response.
