Description.

The E-Shooter Kestrel V2 ETU Electronic Trigger Unit is an advanced programmable upgrade for airsofters who want much finer control over how their AEG behaves. Designed around the widely used Tokyo Marui-spec V2 gearbox platform, the Kestrel replaces a conventional trigger switching arrangement with an ETU (Electronic Trigger Unit) and MOSFET-based power system. Bluetooth connectivity lets you access settings through the E-Shooter app, where you can adjust trigger sensitivity, pre-cocking, ROF (Rate of Fire) and numerous firing parameters without repeatedly opening your airsoft gun. Five trigger sensors provide adjustable sensitivity, while the pre-cocking system offers an unusually fine 100 levels of adjustment for dialling in the response of a particular gearbox setup.

That flexibility becomes particularly useful in tuned skirmish builds. Selector options include SAFE, SEMI, BINARY, BURST, AUG, AUTO and Sniper modes, while the programmable magazine simulation can be set between 30 and 100 shots. Binary mode fires on both the trigger pull and release, where site rules permit it, whereas pre-cocking holds the piston closer to its firing position after a cycle to reduce the delay on the next shot. There is some debate among techs about aggressive pre-cocking and active braking because settings that work beautifully in one build can add unnecessary stress in another. The Kestrel's extensive adjustment is therefore valuable: sensible tuning to suit your motor, gears, spring and battery is generally preferable to simply turning every setting to maximum.

The Kestrel V2 also goes beyond trigger response. Cycle detection supports standard gearsets as well as HSG (high-speed gear) and DSG (dual-sector gear) configurations, and the unit can work with high-torque and brushless motors. Active braking helps control piston position after firing, while ROF control gives players another way to tame an overly lively build. Battery protection with app notifications, a smart fuse, locked-rotor protection and sleep mode add useful safeguards to an upgraded AEG. OTA (over-the-air) firmware updating through the app also means the electronics can receive compatible firmware updates without the old-fashioned faff of removing the unit.

Measuring just 47.4 x 28.7 x 13.5mm and weighing approximately 27.6g, this is a compact upgrade considering the amount of control packed inside. It makes particular sense for experienced airsofters, gearbox technicians and players building a responsive mil-sim, CQB or competition-style AEG where trigger behaviour needs to be tuned rather than merely accepted. Installation does require suitable technical knowledge, and gearbox compatibility should always be confirmed before fitting, but in the right V2 build the Kestrel offers a potent combination of programmable performance, motor control and electrical protection.
