Description.

The S&T Sterling MK5 (L34A1) is a faithful Airsoft recreation of one of Britain’s lesser-known yet elite firearms—the suppressed Sterling variant issued to Special Forces for covert ops and ambush tactics. Designed in the 1980s as a stealthier evolution of the original Sterling SMG, the MK5 featured a fixed suppressor and more compact styling. This electric rifle version delivers on that legacy with steel construction, a real wood handguard, and just enough Cold War charm to make it a centrepiece for both reenactors and serious skirmishers alike.

Constructed with realism front and centre, this AEG is bristling with steel components—receiver, barrel assembly, suppressor, folding stock, sling loops—it’s all there. Even the mock charging handle provides a satisfyingly mechanical “clank” when racked. The only deviation from the steel theme is the textured polymer pistol grip, modelled after the original. The ribbed handguard is a block of stained hardwood that looks and feels the part, offering tactile control while preserving the period look.

Functionality is just as solid as the build. The integrated suppressor isn't just for looks—it forms part of the outer barrel, giving the gun its signature profile. Fire modes are selectable via the pistol grip selector switch: safe, semi-auto, and full-auto are all available. The 2-position folding stock tucks neatly under the weapon when space is tight—simply depress the rear cap and fold down. At full extension, it offers solid shoulder support for aimed fire. Fixed iron sights sit atop the receiver, with a two-aperture rear that adapts for lighting conditions.

Loading is period-accurate too, with the 110-round mid-cap magazine inserted on the left-hand side—just like the real Sterling. This side-feed setup also doubles as a foregrip, offering improved stability in game. If you’re going full reenactment, it looks right. If you’re skirmishing, it performs right. The adjustable rotary hop-up is accessed externally via a port in front of the trigger guard, allowing quick on-site tuning to suit 0.25g BBs or whatever weight you prefer for your site’s range.

The MK5 is rear-wired, with battery access concealed behind the folding stock. Remove the end cap by pressing it in and twisting—it’s old-school, mechanical, and oddly satisfying. Inside, a mini-Tamiya connector awaits, with enough space for a 7.4v block-style LiPo battery, which we recommend for optimal performance. Internally, the proprietary 9mm gearbox runs steel gears and a short-type motor, with an output of around 340 FPS using 0.20g BBs—perfectly balanced for UK field limits.
