Description.
The G&G CM16 GMS Striker is one of those rifles that instantly makes you stop and say, “Alright… that’s actually clever.” At first glance, it looks like a compact modern M4-style platform with a chunky handguard and aggressive styling. Then you hit the release tab and the entire front assembly folds neatly back over the receiver like something out of a futuristic backpack gun concept.
Honestly, the folding transport system is not just a gimmick either. It genuinely solves one of the biggest annoyances with compact rifles. Storage. Transporting even short electric rifle platforms can still be awkward when dealing with smaller bags, tight car boots or discreet travel setups. The GMS Striker folds down dramatically, making it far easier to store or carry without wrestling with oversized rifle bags everywhere you go.
The folding mechanism itself feels surprisingly solid too. Pull the handguard release tab and the front section folds cleanly back over the receiver. Once deployed again, it locks firmly into place and feels properly rigid during use. No horrible wobbling or loose movement that makes you question your life choices halfway through a skirmish.
When unfolded, the Striker feels compact, lightweight and extremely manoeuvrable. This is exactly the sort of platform that suits fast-paced CQB gameplay and aggressive movement around tight corners or confined spaces. It shoulders quickly, transitions smoothly between targets and never feels cumbersome during long skirmish sessions.
The reinforced polymer receiver helps massively with overall weight reduction while still maintaining durability. G&G’s polymer builds have always been solid, and the GMS Striker continues that reputation nicely. It feels sturdy without becoming unnecessarily heavy. No cheap flexing or toy-like creaking during handling either.
The M-LOK handguard keeps the front end clean and modern while allowing plenty of flexibility for accessories. Torches, lasers, grips and PEQ boxes all mount easily without covering the rifle in unnecessary rail sections. It keeps the setup streamlined and comfortable during aggressive gameplay.
The full-length top Picatinny rail also gives loads of room for optics. A compact red dot sight feels absolutely perfect on this platform and suits the rifle’s fast-handling personality beautifully. Add a tracer unit to the threaded barrel and suddenly you have a very serious CQB setup hiding inside what looks like a backpack-friendly transformer rifle.
Internally, the CM16 GMS Striker uses G&G’s upgraded MIG Version 2 gearbox derived from the G2 platform. That means you are getting a far more advanced setup than older entry-level Combat Machine rifles. The gearbox feels responsive, cycles smoothly and delivers a very healthy firing sound straight out of the box.
The integrated Electronic Trigger Unit and MOSFET system make a noticeable difference too. Trigger response feels much sharper and cleaner compared to older mechanical trigger setups. Electrical efficiency improves, and the MOSFET also helps protect trigger contacts during sustained use. Pair the rifle with a decent LiPo battery and the whole platform feels lively and responsive during gameplay.
The 25,000 RPM long-axis motor provides quick cycling performance without making the rifle feel unstable or overly aggressive. It strikes a nice balance between responsiveness and reliability, which honestly is exactly what most skirmish players actually need.
Accuracy comes from the combination of the adjustable rotary hop-up chamber and the 168mm precision brass inner barrel. Despite the compact dimensions, the Striker still delivers respectable consistency and predictable BB flight across medium engagement distances. It handles CQB brilliantly while still remaining useful outdoors.
The functional bolt catch is another genuinely useful feature because it allows easier access to the hop-up unit during adjustments. Small details like that make a surprisingly big difference during actual skirmish use.
The quick-change spring system also adds a huge amount of flexibility. If your local sites use different FPS limits for indoor and outdoor gameplay, being able to swap springs more easily saves a massive amount of hassle compared to older gearbox designs.
Ambidextrous magazine controls are another welcome addition, especially for left-handed players who often get forgotten entirely. Reloads feel smooth and intuitive regardless of shooting hand.
The six-position stock helps tailor the rifle to different player sizes and gear setups while also housing the battery inside the buffer tube. It keeps the overall profile slim and balanced without needing oversized external battery boxes.
Even the included 30-round mid-cap magazine suits the rifle’s lightweight and realistic feel nicely. Mid-caps always make compact rifles feel cleaner and more streamlined compared to oversized winding high-caps rattling around like a maraca every time you move.
As an overall package, the G&G CM16 GMS Striker feels genuinely innovative without becoming gimmicky. The folding transport system is actually useful, the handling is excellent and the upgraded electronics give the rifle a much more responsive and modern shooting feel than older Combat Machine platforms.
If you are looking for a compact BB Gun with excellent portability, modern trigger response and lightweight skirmish performance, this Airsoft AEG rifle delivers something genuinely different. Clever design backed up by proper field-ready performance. Hard not to appreciate that combination.
