Description.
The Cyma G18 Series AEP Pistol with Mosfet, also known as the CM030S, is one of those bits of kit that makes a lot of sense once you have actually used it on a cold game day. It is an airsoft pistol with a fixed-slide electric system, a built-in MOSFET, full-auto capability, and a LiPo battery package included in the box.
Externally, this BB Gun follows the G18C style closely, giving you that familiar modern sidearm shape without making the controls feel strange or awkward. The frame is made from outer ABS, with metal internal parts where they matter, so it keeps the weight sensible while still feeling solid enough for skirmish use. At 675 grams, it has a reassuring feel in the hand without dragging your belt down like a brick in a sock. The 201mm length also makes it easy to holster, carry, and draw quickly in CQB.
The big talking point here is the factory-installed MOSFET. On an AEP, that is not just a fancy line on the spec sheet. It helps protect the trigger contacts from electrical wear, improves efficiency, and gives the trigger a cleaner, snappier response. The result is a pistol that feels more switched-on when you need fast follow-up shots.
Because this is an Automatic Electric Pistol, it does not rely on gas pressure to cycle. That matters more than some newer players realise. Gas blowback pistols are brilliant fun, but when the temperature drops, they can lose power, slow down, or vent gas like they have had enough for the day. The CM030S avoids all that drama. The electric gearbox keeps performance steady, making it a great backup sidearm for woodland games, winter skirmishes, indoor CQB, and any loadout where reliability comes before noise and recoil.
The included LiPo battery and charger are a nice touch, especially for players who do not want to start hunting for compatible power options straight away. LiPo power gives the pistol consistent voltage delivery, which helps the rate of fire and trigger feel stay lively during use. Paired with the high-torque motor and MOSFET, the CM030S feels more responsive than older AEP designs. It is still an AEP, of course, not a full-size AEG gearbox hiding in a pistol shell, but it punches above its size.
Performance sits at around 230 FPS, which is right where you want this kind of sidearm to be. It is friendly for close-range sites, especially indoor arenas, while still having enough poke for backup use outdoors. The adjustable Hop-Up lets you tune the pistol for your chosen BB weight, so you can get a flatter flight path instead of watching your shots nose-dive like tired pigeons. With good quality 0.20g or 0.25g BBs, it can be surprisingly tidy at sensible pistol ranges.
The fire selector gives you semi-automatic and full-automatic modes. Semi-auto is what most players will use for controlled shots, room clearing, and those “primary is down, switch to sidearm” moments. Full-auto, though, is where the G18-style design earns its grin. Flick the selector, and this compact pistol turns into a little electric machine pistol. Handy in tight corridors. Handy when someone pops out closer than expected. Handy when your mate says, “cover me,” and you have about three seconds to make yourself useful.
The 30 round magazine gives you a fair amount of capacity for an airsoft handgun this compact. It is not a drum-fed monster, and that is part of the charm. You still need to pick shots and reload properly, but you have enough BBs to make the full-auto mode worth having in short bursts. A speed loader is included too, which saves the usual fingernail misery when loading magazines between games.
Under the frame, Cyma has included a 20mm Picatinny accessory rail. That means you can fit a compact torch or laser unit if your site rules allow it. For CQB players, a small weapon light can make a genuine difference in dark rooms and stairwells. Just do not overdo it with huge accessories. This pistol works best when it stays slim, light, and easy to move. Keep it tidy and it will treat you well.
One thing I like about the CM030S is how low-maintenance it feels. There is no gas magazine to warm, no slide to cycle, and no cooldown issue to manage. Charge the battery, load the magazine, adjust the Hop-Up, and you are off. For newer airsofters, that simplicity is a blessing. For experienced players, it is the reason many still keep an AEP in the kit bag. It is the “boring but dependable” tool that suddenly becomes your favourite when everything else is being awkward.
As a sidearm, the Cyma G18 Series AEP Pistol with Mosfet suits snipers, DMR users, CQB players, and anyone who wants a backup that is not weather-sensitive. It also works nicely as a compact primary for younger players or for indoor games where full-size rifles feel like trying to steer a ladder through a cupboard. The full-auto option gives it extra flexibility, while the MOSFET and LiPo setup make it feel more modern than the older standard CM030 models.
In the hand, the grip angle and overall balance feel natural. The controls are easy enough to reach, and the fixed-slide layout means there is very little wasted movement during firing. It is not trying to copy the recoil of a gas pistol. Different beast. Instead, it focuses on consistency, electrical efficiency, and simple skirmish performance. That is the whole point of this platform, and Cyma has leaned into it properly with the CM030S package.
If you want a dependable electric sidearm that can handle cold weather, tight spaces, and regular skirmish use without needing constant fuss, the Cyma G18 Series AEP Pistol with Mosfet is a very sensible pick. It has enough features to keep experienced players interested, but it is still approachable for someone buying their first serious airsoft handgun. Reliable, compact, and surprisingly nippy.
