Description.

The Cyma CM622 M4/AR15 AEG Rifle Long UX is a lightweight take on the classic AR platform, combining familiar M4 controls with a practical 11-inch railed front end. Its upper and lower receivers are made from durable injection-moulded polymer, while the barrel assembly and buffer tube are metal. This mix keeps the electric rifle down to a stated 1800g without abandoning metal completely where extra rigidity makes sense.

For anyone already familiar with an M4, this Rifle won't require much adjustment. The magazine position, selector, pistol grip and adjustable stock all follow the established AR layout. That makes the CM622 an approachable first airsoft gun, but its Version 2 gearbox, MOSFET and quick-change spring arrangement also give more experienced players a useful base for future work. In other words, it's simple without being a dead end.

Starting at the muzzle, Cyma uses a 14mm negative thread, also commonly described as 14mm CCW. That's one of the most widely used standards in airsoft, so compatible tracer units, mock suppressors and alternative cosmetic muzzle devices are easy to find if you fancy changing the front-end setup.

Behind that sits the 11-inch polymer Picatinny handguard. Unlike the KeyMod front end found on the closely related CM621, the CM622 uses a more traditional railed arrangement. It gives the BB Gun plenty of mounting space for compatible grips, lights and other accessories without requiring separate KeyMod rail sections. The handguard also incorporates the front sight into its design.

The upper rail continues along the top of the receiver, leaving plenty of space for a red dot, scope or PEQ-style accessory. A flip-up SCAR-type rear sight is supplied to work with the front sight, so the rifle remains usable without adding an optic straight away. Keeping the handguard itself polymer also helps prevent the front end from becoming unnecessarily heavy once accessories start creeping onto it. And they usually do.

The upper and lower receivers are injection-moulded polymer and feature an enlarged trigger guard. This construction is a big part of why the CM622 remains so manageable. A stated weight of approximately 1.8kg is light for a full-sized M4-style Airsoft AEG, which can make a noticeable difference during long woodland games or when you're constantly moving between positions.

At the back you'll find a metal buffer tube and six-position Crane-style stock. Being able to alter the stock length makes the CM622 easy to adapt to different players, clothing and tactical equipment. Run it shorter around buildings, then extend it when you want a more relaxed shooting stance. There's also an ambidextrous rear sling point for players who prefer either left- or right-side sling attachment.

Internally, the CM622 uses a full-metal Version 2 gearbox. That's a reassuring choice because the V2 remains one of the most widely supported gearbox designs in airsoft. Replacement components and upgrade parts are plentiful, and most experienced AEG technicians know their way around one. A long-type motor drives the gearbox, with semi-auto and full-auto firing modes available alongside the safety.

This version is also specified with a MOSFET and QD spring system. The MOSFET manages electrical switching within the AEG, while the quick-change spring arrangement makes spring access less involved than with older gearbox designs. It's a useful combination on a rifle that's otherwise deliberately straightforward.

Hop-up is adjustable, allowing you to tune the BB's backspin and trajectory for the ammunition you're using. There is a discrepancy in the supplied specifications regarding inner barrel length: one section states 400mm, while the additional information lists 350mm. Magazine capacity is likewise quoted as both 350 rounds and 300 rounds. We'd therefore treat those figures as specification or production-batch variations rather than guessing which one applies to every CM622.

Power is listed in the additional information at approximately 1.4 joules, or around 390 FPS using a 0.20g BB, with a stated manufacturing and measurement tolerance of +/-10%. That's worth paying attention to because site limits vary. Chronograph the rifle before playing and make sure its actual output meets the rules at your chosen skirmish site.

Overall, the CM622 makes a lot of sense as a general-purpose M4. The polymer body and handguard keep it nimble, while the metal V2 gearbox gives you a familiar internal platform. Throw in the MOSFET, QD spring system, adjustable stock and included battery and charger, and you've got a practical AR-style package that's equally at home as a starter AEG, lightweight field gun or platform for later upgrades.
