Description.

The Cybergun Desert Eagle .50AE Railed is a CO2-powered GBB Pistol that takes an already enormous handgun design and adds something the original never had: full-auto fire. You still get the familiar Desert Eagle shape, officially licensed Magnum Research markings and heavyweight visual presence, but this version also has a 20mm frame rail and selectable semi or full-auto firing. As an airsoft pistol, it's about as restrained as arriving at a five-a-side match in a monster truck. Big, loud and rather entertaining.

Starting at the front, the 6.3-inch alloy outer barrel retains the chunky Desert Eagle profile. There's no threaded muzzle on this version, so don't expect to screw a tracer or suppressor straight onto the barrel. Instead, the muzzle has detailed mock rifling with the 135mm, 6.08mm inner barrel sitting slightly recessed inside. Above it is an anti-glare front sight set into a dovetail, which lines up with the broad rear notch to give this BB Gun a particularly clear sight picture.

One of the interesting things about the Desert Eagle design is its split-slide arrangement. The barrel and front section remain fixed while the rear portion of the alloy slide reciprocates during firing. In airsoft terms, that's quite useful. There's less moving mass than you'd have if that entire enormous upper assembly travelled backwards with every shot, while you still get the punchy gas blowback action you'd expect from a CO2 airsoft handgun.

The slide has deep serrations on both sides, giving you something substantial to grab when racking it. At the rear you'll find the ambidextrous safety and fire selector. This controls safe, semi-automatic and fully automatic modes. Semi is the sensible setting when you're actually trying to place BBs accurately. Push it into full auto and the character changes rather dramatically. With CO2 driving the blowback system, you'll want a proper two-handed grip when letting it run.

Underneath, the high-density polymer frame includes a 20mm Picatinny pistol rail. There's enough space for compatible accessories such as an airsoft torch or aiming module, making this railed version more practical for skirmishing than the clean-framed classic Desert Eagle. The trigger guard has the familiar curved front profile, while the slide release and conventional button-style magazine catch sit within easy reach.

The grip panels are high-density polymer with fine texturing and recessed IWI Desert Eagle logos. Combined with the laser-engraved Magnum Research trademarks on the slide, they give the pistol the licensed appearance you'd expect rather than a vaguely Deagle-shaped copy. The extended beavertail at the rear also gives the web of your hand somewhere sensible to sit and keeps it clear of the cycling slide.

HOP-up adjustment is handled by a rotary unit inside the chamber area. Access requires removing the outer barrel during a field strip, so this isn't one you'll casually tweak between every few shots. Once exposed, the dial can be adjusted with a fine tool such as the supplied Allen key. The recommended BB weight is 0.25g, which is a sensible starting point before fine-tuning the HOP for your particular ammunition.

Power comes from a standard 12g CO2 bulb installed in the magazine. The supplied low-cap magazine carries approximately 21 BBs and is specifically intended for the Cybergun/KWC Desert Eagle CO2 system; compatibility with other manufacturers' Desert Eagle magazines shouldn't be assumed. Tested velocity is listed at approximately 340 FPS ±10% using 0.20g BBs, so it's worth checking your site's pistol limits before game day rather than discovering an awkward surprise at chrono.

At approximately 27cm long, this is no compact sidearm, although the listed weight of roughly 0.783kg is manageable considering its dimensions. The combination of CO2 power, a large alloy slide section and gas blowback gives it much more character than a basic non-blowback pistol. Full auto naturally uses CO2 far more quickly, while semi-auto makes considerably more sense if you're concerned about efficiency and shot placement.

This Cybergun Desert Eagle suits the airsofter who specifically wants the Deagle experience: oversized controls, unmistakable styling, licensed markings and hefty CO2 blowback. The accessory rail gives it some modern practicality, while full auto supplies the slightly ridiculous bit. Nobody buys a Desert Eagle because they wanted the smallest secondary on the field, after all.
