Description.
The Ares/RWA APR-007 Korth Sky Marshal airsoft CO2 Revolver in Black is not the sort of airsoft pistol you pick up and forget about five minutes later. It has presence. Real presence. Made by ARES and RWA under full Korth Waffen licence, this compact BB Gun brings the feel of a serious German defensive revolver into airsoft form, with a full-metal frame, realistic individual shells, and a weighty build that feels planted the moment it sits in your hand.
This is a proper airsoft revolver, but not an old-school cowboy-style sidearm. Not even close. The Korth Sky Marshal is a modern tactical revolver, finished in a clean matte black and shaped for close-range skirmish use, target shooting, collection, and training-style handling. It is powered by a standard 12g CO2 capsule hidden inside the grip, so you get snappy firing, firm trigger feedback, and that satisfying mechanical feel that many gas and CO2 revolver fans chase.
The first thing you notice is the build. Over 1kg of full-metal heft gives this revolver a grounded, realistic feel without turning it into a brick. It feels dense rather than clumsy. The balance sits nicely in the hand, helped by the rubberised ergonomic grips, which wrap the frame with enough texture to keep your hold steady when your gloves are damp, your hands are cold, or the safe zone coffee has done nothing useful yet. We have all been there.
Moving from the muzzle back, the Sky Marshal has a short, purposeful front end with a stainless steel inner barrel tucked inside. That barrel works with the TDC adjustable hop-up system, which is a big deal on a revolver. Many shell-loaded revolvers look brilliant but shoot like they are making educated guesses. This one is different. The Top Dead Centre hop-up allows a more even contact on the BB, giving you better control over backspin and making heavier BB weights far more usable. For a compact airsoft handgun, that matters.
The dual 90-degree Picatinny rails are what give the Korth Sky Marshal its odd little magic trick. Instead of sitting in the usual place and ruining the draw, the accessory rails sit at right angles along the barrel and frame. That means you can mount compact torches or small laser modules in a way that keeps the revolver practical. It looks a bit mad at first glance. Then you handle it, and it clicks. It is a clever layout for CQB players who want a tactical sidearm without turning their holster setup into a wrestling match.
The cylinder uses six realistic 9mm-style metal shells, with each shell taking one BB. This gives the loading process a very different rhythm from a magazine-fed airsoft gun. You are not just slapping in a mag and cracking on. You are loading cartridges, closing the cylinder, and running the gun like a proper wheel-gun. It is slower, yes, but it is also much more immersive. For players who enjoy roleplay, collection pieces, practical shooting, or just gear with character, this is where the Sky Marshal earns its grin.
Those hollow-point style shells also work with the included full moon clip, and the revolver is compatible with Ares 686 moon clips and speed loaders. That is useful on the skirmish field. Reloading shell-by-shell under pressure can feel like trying to thread a needle during an earthquake, so moon clips make life easier. Carry a few loaded clips, practise the motion, and the Sky Marshal becomes far more usable as a backup sidearm than many traditional shell-fed revolvers.
The trigger feel is another strong point. In double-action mode, the pull is smooth and steady, with enough resistance to feel mechanical but not enough to ruin your shot. Cock the hammer for single-action use and the trigger becomes crisp, making it better for careful target shots or those cheeky little gaps in barricades. No, it is not going to behave like a race-tuned hi-capa. It is a revolver. But for what it is, the trigger has real finesse.
Internally, the CO2 system uses the proven Ares 686-style gas design, with the 12g capsule housed neatly inside the grip. That keeps the outside clean and realistic while still giving strong gas output. CO2 is a good match for a compact metal revolver like this because it gives a firm, consistent punch, especially in cooler UK game days when some green gas sidearms start getting a bit sleepy. As always, use suitable BB weight and chrono before play, because CO2 sidearms can be lively depending on temperature and setup.
The matte black finish suits the gun well. It keeps things understated, more professional than flashy, and it pairs nicely with the tactical rail layout. The markings are fully licensed, which collectors will appreciate, but the Sky Marshal does not rely only on branding. The details support the whole package: metal construction, rubberised grips, shell operation, adjustable hop, hard case, and that distinctive Korth shape. It feels like a proper replica, not a generic revolver wearing a fancy badge.
On the skirmish field, this airsoft gun makes the most sense as a specialist secondary. It is great for players who want something with character for CQB, a backup for sniper loadouts, or a compact sidearm for scenarios where realism matters more than dumping BBs downrange. Newcomers can enjoy it too, especially for garden plinking or target practice, though they should understand that a shell-loaded revolver is a more hands-on experience than a simple magazine-fed pistol. That is part of the fun. Bit of theatre. Bit of skill.
For more experienced airsofters, the Sky Marshal offers a refreshing change from the usual polymer-framed sidearm crowd. The TDC hop-up gives it a practical edge, the rail system opens up low-light options, and the metal shell system delivers that lovely mechanical loading process. It is not trying to be the most efficient sidearm in the safe zone. It is trying to be memorable, realistic, and genuinely satisfying to run. And honestly, it does that very well.
Use good quality 6mm BBs, keep the shells clean, and add a little silicone maintenance where needed. Treat the CO2 seals properly and do not leave capsules fitted for long storage. Small habits, big difference. A revolver like this rewards a bit of care, much like a decent watch or a well-set-up hop unit. Look after it and it will keep giving you that clean, sharp CO2 snap every time you thumb back the hammer.
If you want a compact airsoft revolver that feels premium, handles with authority, and brings something genuinely different to your loadout, the Ares/RWA Korth Sky Marshal is a cracking choice. It blends realistic shell loading with modern tactical features in a way most revolvers simply do not. A BB pistol for players who like their sidearms with a bit of soul.
