Description.

The Well PRO MCX Rattler WG10-6M takes the modern PDW idea and shrinks it right down to the essentials. This is an extremely compact Rifle with a shortened barrel, micro handguard and folding stock, making it particularly interesting for CQB players who find even conventional short-barrel platforms a bit cumbersome. Despite its small dimensions, this is a full-metal gas blowback airsoft gun rather than a lightweight compact AEG. Pick it up and there's considerably more substance there than its stubby proportions suggest.

The really interesting part sits inside. Well PRO has based the WG10-6M around architecture compatible with the Tokyo Marui MWS ZET system. For an airsofter already familiar with MWS rifles, that's a big advantage. The Rattler can accept standard TM-spec MWS gas magazines, including the familiar 30-round format, while its compatibility also opens the door to the extensive range of MWS-pattern hop-up, inner barrel and fire-control components available on the aftermarket.

Being a GBB rifle, every trigger pull cycles the bolt and gives you genuine mechanical movement through the receiver. That changes the whole character compared with an Airsoft AEG. There's recoil, noise and the physical clunk of the action doing its thing. When the magazine runs empty, the bolt is designed to lock to the rear, adding another layer of realistic operation and making reloads much more involving.

Up front, the Rattler wears a very short CNC machined aluminium M-LOK handguard. Space is deliberately limited – that's rather the point of a micro PDW – but there is enough room to attach essential compatible accessories without surrounding the gun in unnecessary rail. A continuous Picatinny top rail provides mounting space for a compact red dot or other suitable optic. On something this short, a small red dot feels right at home.

The outer barrel finishes with a 14mm CCW thread, one of the most commonly encountered airsoft muzzle standards. That makes it straightforward to fit a compatible compact tracer unit or airsoft suppressor. A short tracer can be particularly useful if you're building the WG10-6M specifically for indoor CQB, without turning the front end into a yard-long collection of accessories.

Move back to the receiver and the construction remains reassuringly substantial. The upper receiver is CNC machined aluminium, paired with a metal lower receiver and aluminium handguard. That combination gives the Rattler the dense feel you'd expect from a full-metal BB Gun, while also providing a suitably rigid platform for the repeated cycling of the gas blowback system.

The controls are another strong point. Well PRO has equipped the Rattler with an ambidextrous fire selector, magazine release and bolt catch. That's obviously useful for left-handed players, but right-handed users benefit too. When you're swapping shoulders to work around the opposite side of a barricade, being able to operate the important controls from either side makes the rifle considerably less awkward.

At the back, there's no conventional M4 buffer tube sticking out and spoiling the compact format. Instead, the receiver uses a 1913 Picatinny rear stock interface and comes fitted with a minimalist side-folding stock. Fold it alongside the receiver and the Rattler becomes remarkably compact for transport and close-quarters movement. Extend it and you've still got a proper shoulder contact point when you need a more stable firing position. Neat and simple.

The combination of the folding stock and tiny front end is what gives this airsoft rifle its real niche. Around doorways, barricades and cramped CQB structures, there's simply less gun sticking out in front of you. It's quicker to bring around a tight corner and easier to keep tucked into the shoulder. The trade-off is obvious: you have less handguard space than a conventional carbine, so sensible accessory choices matter. Torch, optic, perhaps a tracer. Job done.

For existing MWS users, the WG10-6M is especially tempting because it doesn't leave you stranded with an obscure proprietary gas platform. Magazine compatibility and access to established MWS-pattern upgrade components give you far more scope for maintaining or tuning the rifle later. That's arguably more valuable than another page of flashy specifications, particularly with a GBBR that's going to see regular skirmish use.

The Well PRO MCX Rattler WG10-6M therefore lands in an interesting spot: a genuinely tiny full-metal gas blowback rifle with modern ambidextrous controls, M-LOK furniture, a folding stock and MWS compatibility underneath. It's clearly aimed at CQB, but it's also a cracking little platform for anyone who enjoys the mechanical character of gas rifles and wants something considerably shorter than the usual carbine.
