Description.

The Tokyo Marui S&W Performance Center PC356 is an electric pistol with a rather different character from the usual tactical sidearm. Modelled after the Smith & Wesson Performance Center PC356 competition-style handgun, this silver airsoft pistol combines race-gun looks with Tokyo Marui's straightforward electric blowback system. No Green Gas bottles, no CO2 capsules and no manually cocking a spring before every shot. Install four AAA batteries and the electric mechanism takes care of cycling the slide as you fire.

That makes the PC356 a particularly approachable airsoft pistol. Each trigger pull operates the electric firing mechanism and produces automatic slide movement, giving you both visual and tactile feedback. Don't expect the heavy kick of a full-size gas blowback pistol; that's not what this design is trying to imitate. Instead, you get light electric blowback action with simple operation and very little fuss. For informal target shooting, it's a handy setup.

Power comes from four standard AAA batteries housed internally in the grip frame. That's one of the biggest practical differences between this and a conventional AEP using a dedicated rechargeable battery pack. AAA cells are easy to find, quick to replace and don't require you to keep a specialist airsoft battery and charger on hand. Fresh batteries in, BBs loaded, and you're ready to go.

Externally, Tokyo Marui has based the design around the S&W Performance Center PC356 race gun platform. The silver finish gives the BB Gun a distinctive competition appearance rather than the military styling found on many airsoft handguns. Its angular slide and frame detailing add to the custom-pistol look, making the PC356 an interesting choice if you've already got enough black service pistols knocking around in the collection.

The construction is predominantly high-grade ABS polymer. That keeps the pistol lightweight and also suits the modest electric blowback mechanism; there isn't a heavy metal slide for the motorised system to drag backwards and forwards with every shot. The result is an easy-handling airsoft handgun that doesn't need the maintenance associated with a pressurised gas system.

Controls are deliberately uncomplicated. The PC356 uses an ergonomic grip shape, fixed open target sights and a frame-mounted safety mechanism. Those fixed sights provide a conventional sight picture for casual paper-target shooting and basic marksmanship practice. There's no complicated optic setup or accessory system to worry about here. Line up the sights, work the trigger smoothly and watch where the BB lands.

The slim drop-out magazine also keeps loading familiar. Rather than having a bulky gas reservoir or CO2 capsule built into the magazine, the electric power source stays within the pistol itself. This helps keep the operating process straightforward and means there's no need to refill a magazine with gas between shooting sessions.

Output is stated as being below 200 FPS, putting this Tokyo Marui electric blowback pistol firmly towards the lower-powered end of the airsoft spectrum. That makes it much more focused on casual target shooting and introductory use than hard skirmishing against full-power Airsoft AEGs and gas pistols. It also makes the PC356 useful for practising fundamentals such as sight alignment and trigger control without needing a particularly powerful airsoft gun.

The electric system also sidesteps one of the familiar headaches of gas-powered pistols: changing performance as temperatures fall. There is no compressed Green Gas or CO2 supply involved. The trade-off is considerably lighter recoil and lower power, but for the intended role, that simplicity is part of the appeal. Sometimes you just want to load a pistol, put up a target and get shooting without messing around with gas cans.

For someone looking for a distinctive Tokyo Marui BB pistol with uncomplicated controls, low running requirements and competition-inspired styling, the PC356 offers something a little outside the usual catalogue. The silver finish catches the eye, the AAA power system is easy to live with, and the moving slide adds some mechanical character to what would otherwise be a straightforward low-powered electric pistol.
