Description
The colt 45 has been used for decades by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) as their secondary weapon. The pistol is a .45 ACP calibre round, hence the name, that is very powerful at close range and easy to make. This replica has many modern upgrades to the classic pistol, which make it much more versatile in the field.
The top slide of the pistol is made from metal and has grips to make it easier to chamber a round or to grip it when taking the pistol down for maintenance. There are straightforward V-notch sights that give an excellent clear sight window to make it easy to aim down sight. The slide does move to the rear after a round is fired and will re-chamber a new round.
The frame of the pistol is made from metal and comfortably sits all of the controls of the pistol. The controls are the slide lock, magazine release, external safety and beaver tail safety switch. All of these are made of metal and are very straightforward to use, and are very well-placed to make you effective and efficient in the field. The grips of the pistol are polymer spray-painted blue. These grips are textured and have an excellent feel; they reduce the risk of the pistol slipping out of hand whilst maintaining a high level of comfort with a grove to sit the user's thumb. Bellow the grip, there is a pistol retention lanyard loop which can be used to prevent the pistol from being dropped, damaged or lost.
There is plenty of rail space on the bottom of the frame to accommodate lasers or lights. This will significantly improve the abilities of the pistol and maximise its performance.
