Description.

The EMG x Daniel Defense DDM4 AEG Rifle in Black, model CM105DDL-BK, brings together officially licensed Daniel Defense externals and CYMA's performance-focused Platinum internals. This is a full-metal Rifle with genuine Daniel Defense markings, a CNC-machined aluminium RIS II handguard and the familiar handling of an M4-pattern airsoft gun. Underneath those realistic externals sits a QD Version 2 gearbox, 13:1 steel gearing and an Eshooter Kestrel V2 BASIC electronic trigger system. So, thankfully, the interesting stuff doesn't stop at the trademarks.

As an electric rifle, the DDM4 follows a layout most airsofters will immediately understand. You get familiar AR-style controls, an adjustable Crane stock and M4 AEG magazine compatibility, making it straightforward to slot into an existing loadout. It's a particularly appealing Airsoft AEG for someone who likes the classic Daniel Defense quad-rail appearance but wants much newer gearbox technology than you'd find in an old-school M4.

Starting at the front, there's a 14mm counter-clockwise threaded flash hider. That common 14mm CCW format gives you plenty of choice when fitting compatible tracer units or alternative cosmetic muzzle devices. Behind it sits one of the standout external features: the Daniel Defense RIS II handguard. It's CNC machined from aluminium and anodised, giving you the chunky, purposeful quad-rail arrangement associated with the platform.

The RIS II provides plenty of mounting space for compatible lights, grips and other accessories, while the continuous upper Picatinny rail gives you room for optics. Flip-up front and rear sights are included, so you've got a usable sighting arrangement straight away. There's no need to bolt half an accessory catalogue onto it on day one. Though, being a quad-rail M4, resisting that temptation is another matter entirely.

The receiver is metal and carries realistic Daniel Defense markings under the official licence. A dummy bolt-stop function adds another nice touch when accessing the hop-up area. At the rear, the six-position Crane stock lets you alter the length of pull to suit your stance and equipment, while battery storage is located towards the rear. The supplied information specifies 7.4V battery compatibility and a Deans-compatible T-type connector; the battery itself is not included.

Inside is where the CM105DDL-BK gets particularly interesting. Electronic control comes from the Eshooter Kestrel V2 BASIC ETU with an integrated MOSFET. Its functions include five-stage adjustable pre-cocking, automatic pre-cocking correction, active braking, cycle detection, sensor calibration, sleep mode, low-voltage warning and battery protection. The unit is also listed as compatible with brushless motors. In practical terms, the big attraction is better control over gearbox cycling and the ability to tune pre-cocking to suit the response you're looking for.

Hop-up is adjustable and works with an approximately 330mm inner barrel. Feeding comes from the supplied 150-round M4-style mid-cap magazine, while compatibility with other suitable M4 Series AEG magazines makes adding spares straightforward. Fire controls cover safe, semi-auto and full-auto, giving the rifle the familiar operating setup expected from an M4-pattern AEG.

The supplied information lists the rifle at around 750-835mm overall and approximately 2870g, although an earlier specification also quotes 755-840mm and 2680g.
