One of the most realistic airsoft revolvers ever produced, combining cutting-edge design with true-to-life operation.

Description.

Some revolvers follow tradition. The Chiappa Rhino tears up the rulebook completely. With its futuristic profile, low-bore barrel position, and unmistakable silhouette, the Rhino has become one of the most recognisable revolvers ever made. Now, thanks to a collaboration between Chiappa Firearms in Italy, BO Manufacture in France, and revolver specialists Wingun in Taiwan, airsofters can own an incredibly faithful replica in the form of the Chiappa Charging Rhino 40DS CO2 Revolver.

This isn't simply another revolver-shaped BB Gun. From the dimensions and controls to the handling characteristics and operating procedures, every effort has been made to replicate the real firearm as closely as possible. The result is an airsoft revolver that feels genuinely special the moment you take it out of the box.

The first thing that grabs your attention is the Rhino's unique design. Unlike traditional revolvers that fire from the top chamber of the cylinder, the Rhino's barrel sits much lower, aligning closer to the shooter's hand. This distinctive arrangement gives the revolver its aggressive appearance and contributes to the model's reputation in both shooting and collector circles. Even among experienced airsofters, the Rhino tends to stop people in their tracks. It looks unlike anything else on the field.

King-size personality deserves serious construction, and that's exactly what you get here. The frame and barrel are made from metal, giving the revolver an authentic weight and solid feel. Pick it up and you'll immediately notice the quality. The revolver feels dense and substantial without becoming cumbersome. Every component fits together nicely, creating the impression of a premium replica built to withstand regular use.

The black finish works perfectly with the Rhino's modern styling. Combined with the imitation wood grip panels, it creates an attractive contrast between classic revolver elements and futuristic engineering. The grips themselves are comfortable to hold and feature a hidden bonus. Integrated into the grip is the CO2 tightening key, meaning you'll never find yourself hunting around your kit bag looking for the correct tool when it's time to install a fresh cartridge.

Power comes from a standard 12-gram CO2 capsule housed discreetly within the grip. CO2 remains a popular choice for revolvers because it offers excellent consistency and impressive shot count. In the case of the Charging Rhino, a single capsule can provide approximately 100 shots before needing replacement. That's remarkable efficiency for a shell-loading revolver and means less time changing capsules and more time shooting.

What makes this system particularly impressive is how the engineers have managed to keep the output around 0.95 joules. That places the revolver comfortably within the limits of most airsoft sites while still delivering satisfying performance. Many CO2-powered replicas can fluctuate depending on temperature, but this setup has clearly been designed with practical skirmishing in mind.

The revolver operates using both single-action and double-action firing modes. Revolver fans will appreciate having the choice. In single-action mode, manually cocking the hammer before each shot provides a lighter trigger pull and can help when taking careful, accurate shots. Double-action operation allows faster follow-up shots, with the trigger both cocking and releasing the hammer in one movement.

One of the standout aspects of this airsoft handgun is how faithfully it mirrors the real Rhino's controls. The active hammer functions correctly, while the safety flag behaves just like the real firearm. In single-action mode, the flag rises when the hammer is cocked, and it moves during trigger operation. These might seem like small details, but they contribute enormously to the overall realism.

The barrel release system has also been faithfully recreated. The active barrel lock pedal functions in the same way as the genuine Rhino, adding another layer of authenticity that collectors and firearm enthusiasts will appreciate. It's the kind of feature that many manufacturers would simply mould into place, but Chiappa, BO Manufacture, and Wingun went the extra mile.

The six-shot rotating cylinder is made from metal and houses individual chambers for loading BBs. Much like a real revolver, every shot feels deliberate. There are no high-capacity magazines here. Every trigger pull counts. It's a style of shooting that rewards patience and accuracy rather than volume of fire. Frankly, that's part of the appeal.

Accuracy receives a welcome boost thanks to the adjustable hop-up system. Unlike many revolvers that offer fixed hop-up units, the Rhino features a nine-position adjustable system accessed using the supplied adjustment key. This allows users to fine-tune performance for different BB weights and shooting conditions, helping maximise effective range and consistency.

Inside the revolver sits a 127mm inner barrel with a 6.08mm bore. That's significantly longer than many compact revolvers and contributes to the Rhino's strong shooting characteristics. Combined with the adjustable hop-up and stable CO2 propulsion system, it creates a platform capable of delivering surprisingly consistent results.

The sight setup balances realism with practicality. The front sight works alongside an adjustable rear sight that allows windage adjustments. Even better, the revolver is compatible with genuine firearm fibre optic sights, offering owners the option to customise their setup further. For players who enjoy personalising their equipment, that's a very welcome feature.

Another useful addition is the integrated lower Picatinny rail. Measuring approximately 50mm in length, it provides mounting space for compact torches or laser units. Whether you're building a tactical loadout or simply want additional utility for low-light CQB games, the rail adds welcome flexibility without spoiling the revolver's distinctive appearance.

As a collector's piece, the Rhino is exceptional. Official "RHINO 60DS .357 MAGNUM" markings, Chiappa logos, and a unique serial number all contribute to the replica's authenticity. Place it next to more traditional revolvers and it instantly becomes the centre of attention. It is one of those rare airsoft guns that attracts interest even from people who know very little about firearms.

For skirmishers, it offers something refreshingly different. While most sidearms on the field follow the same semi-automatic formula, the Rhino delivers a unique shooting experience wrapped in one of the most innovative revolver designs ever created. It demands a little more thought, a little more precision, and a little more style. Sometimes that's exactly what makes a sidearm memorable.

Whether you're a collector, a revolver fan, or simply someone looking for a standout CO2-powered airsoft pistol, the Chiappa Charging Rhino 40DS earns its place among the most impressive wheel guns currently available. It's realistic, distinctive, beautifully finished, and packed with clever engineering touches that make every interaction feel rewarding.
