AY SR-3M Vikhr Russian special forces carbine, It comes with a metal Receiver with no markings. AY has made an exciting and unusual rifle in the SR-3M or Vikhr ("whirlwind"), the real gun is currently in use with the Russian FSB, the Vikhr is touted as the next progression of the AS-VAL and the VSS Vintorez.

With this airsoft gun replica, the Gearbox is a v3 type and made of metal. The Rifles receiver, safety, selector lever, frame top cover and folding stock are made of aluminium alloy, and the receiver's cover is also made of steel. Polymer Hand Guard and the pistol grip is made of plastic.

The V3 gearbox is one of the most reliable and easy to maintain and repair. All parts of the gearbox are standard and interchangeable with spare parts from other manufacturers. This provides high maintainability and ample opportunities for tuning. Hop-up camera standard AK-type, made of high-strength plastic. The electrical portion of the mechanism is capable of working with high-current batteries, such as lithium-polymer, with a voltage of 7.4V, without any modifications. This airsoft replica comes with a 200 round Hi-cap magazine. The rifles Metal frame set with side rail makes it possible to install PSO-1 type sniping scope.

Below is some background to the real gun.
The small-sized automatic SR-3 Vikhr (originally known as the MA-Small Automatic) was developed by the early 1990s at the Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (Klimovsk) on the basis of a special silent machine AS Val. The main purpose of AI was to use it as a hidden weapon for special units engaged in the protection of government leaders, the fight against organized crime and terrorism, and also as a potential self-defense weapon for military personnel. The machine gun has a very small size, comparable to the size of submachine guns, but noticeably surpasses them in firepower through the use of special SP-6 armor-piercing cartridges of 9mm caliber (9x39mm).

The SR-3M is distinguished by the possibility of using a silencer, metal magazines for 30 rounds, installation of optical and night sights, a folding frame butt (borrowed from AS “Val”), a safety lever made according to the type of SVD, and a new forearm with a folding additional handle.
