DESCRIPTION: 

The M4 is a relatively modern rifle, with the current US Army version (the M4A1) being
introduced in 1994, It is a reliable and effective carbine that is IDEAL as a standard service
rifle as it is lightweight, accurate, and can be very quickly modified to suit any role on the
battlefield - The M4/16 platform can be used to make DMR's, Snipers, Rifles, Carbines.. etc.
The iconic shape of the M4 has become the symbol for the modern day assault rifle, it has
featured in almost every war game including the likes of Battlefield and Call Of Duty. It is
not only an immensely popular service weapon but also one of the bestselling sporting rifles
(The AR15 version) ever made. It is even popular in the UK as a sport rifle in the correct legal
configuration. 

This version of the M4 is one of the shortest CQB-style configurations of the weapon. This version
comes with a short version of the M16 full stock which is incredibly comfortable and has the added
bonus of being able to store multiple batteries of varying sizes. The pistol grip is shaped and thickened
giving an incredibly comfortable feel to the rifle, while the frontal RIS section is staggered giving you 8
possible points to attach items - the staggered system allows for a laser to be attached along with
a torch, with a grip or PEQ, etc. - this is IDEAL for CQB as the situations that you sometimes encounter
in a CQB environment call for torches due to low visibility. The front and rear sight are both removable
leaving you with a generous amount of upper rail space - this then allows the attachment of sights or,
in the case of the "airsoft heretic" a scope!.

In terms of build quality this rifle is another of the Higher-end skirmish weapons, the receiver is NOT pot
metal meaning it shouldn't warp/destroy itself if dropped. The RIS section complete with the staggered
rail space on the gas block are made of a very nice quality metal (Think of a KAC rail) with the stock and
pistol grip being made from the nicer "solid" feeling plastic - the grip actually feels like it might be nylon
fibre as appose to plastic but do not take my word for it. Obviously the generic free grip is simply that -
a generic free grip, it's nothing incredible however for free it certainly does the job. My only gripe with this
weapon is that the flash hider feels a bit brittle - it may well chip or break if rammed into a solid concrete
wall, or dropped on its end. Regardless of that, the externals on this rifle are really quite nice.

Internally this is a standard A&K Mid-Range AEG. It comes with decent quality wiring with a surprisingly
nice motor and internal gears/piston setup - the gears seem to be pre-shimmed and the AOE also sounds
near-perfect which is unusual for an A&K weapon however, there can be no complaints as the gearbox runs
incredibly smooth with no horrendous "whine" that is sometimes present on cheaper weapons. As with all
of our non-backyard quality M4's this is of course standard V2 compatible and could easily take a Lonex
drop-in conversion or similar.
