Why should you store your pistol in a case?
One of the most important safety considerations is the fact that many airsoft pistols are very realistic; in fact, some are virtually impossible the distinguish from a real firearm, so if you are moving them around in the open, you risk the chance of someone reporting you to the police and having armed officers responding to the call. So it's very important to always keep them out of public view in a case, whether you are walking to a game, on public transport or if you have it in your car.
Keeping your airsoft pistol in a hard case will stop any accidental discharges. If your pistol is not secured in a case, it can easily be knocked and could cause it to shoot unintentionally.
Lastly and most obviously, if you store your pistol in a good pistol case, it will protect it from breaking if you drop it, and it will also protect your pistol from scratches and other types of cosmetic damage.
What are the different types of pistol case linings?
There are Customizable foam interiors in pistol cases that allow you to create a secure, custom fit for your specific pistol, known as pic and pluck foam or DIY foam; you make an outline around your pistol and pluck or cut out the foam to make a unique shape hole in the foam that's the exact size of the pistol and parts that you want to store in the case. This type of foam is a little more work for you to do, but the end finish gives you a more secure result to hold your gun without any chance of it moving around in the case. The other type of foam is commonly known as wave foam or egg foam; this type of foam lining is ready to go and needs no work to be done to start using it and works by sandwiching your gun between the two layers of foam.
What else can be stored in pistol cases?
Pistol cases are designed to store and transport pistols, but they can also be used to store other items that are important for using while airsofting with your bb gun. Things like Magazines, bb pellets, batteries, and gun lubricants, are all useful things that you can store. Money, keys and filming stuff like go pros and memory cards are also useful ideas of stuff to keep in your case.
