How does a AEG Airsoft bbgun gearbox work?

Complex machines, these AEGs are, aren't they? Well, they're not so complex
when you get down to it. We're going to take apart a Tokyo Marui style
gearbox and show you piece by piece how one functions. The gearbox we will
be looking at is a version 2, a very common type. All of TM current
gearboxes are based on the same principles, and many parts are directly
interchangeable, but not all.

The journey begins when the trigger is pulled and the trigger contacts
close, completing the circuit from the battery to the motor. When the motor
begins to spin, it engages the bevel gear. To avoid the gear reversing in
its motion in the event of an incomplete cycle, the bevel gear is ratcheted
by the anti-reversal latch. The bevel gear engages the spur gear, which
engages the sector gear.

This gear does two things in its cycle. First, the small nub on the gear
pulls back on the tappet plate, which in turn pull back the air nozzle.
This allows a BB to feed upwards into the hop up and when the tappet plate
is released, the air nozzle moves forward and chambers the BB.
Simultaneously, the teeth of the gear retract the piston. When the piston
releases, the main spring launches it down the cylinder to force enough air
pressure out of the air nozzle to fire the BB. The cut off lever and
selector plate regulate semi-automatic fire.

That was only one version of a Tokyo Marui gearbox. To date, there are
eight different versions, plus other manufacturers make their own, like ICS
and KWA. Now that you know your way around a standardized gearbox, you can
get out and play. See ya.

An AEG (automatic electric gun) gearbox is a mechanical system that is used to power airsoft guns that use AEG technology. The gearbox is located inside the body of the airsoft gun and is responsible for converting the energy from the battery into the mechanical energy needed to propel the BBs.
The gearbox consists of a series of gears, a motor, and a cylinder. The motor is powered by the battery and turns the gears, which in turn move the piston and cylinder. The piston is connected to a spring, which is compressed when the trigger is pulled. When the spring is released, it pushes the piston forward, creating a burst of air that propels the BB out of the barrel.
The gearbox also contains a selector switch, which allows the user to choose between different firing modes, such as semi-automatic, full-automatic, and burst fire. The gearbox also has a trigger switch, which activates the motor and initiates the firing sequence when the trigger is pulled.
In summary, the AEG gearbox is a complex mechanical system that converts electrical energy from the battery into the mechanical energy needed to propel the BBs out of the barrel. It is an integral part of the airsoft gun and is responsible for its performance and reliability.
